Information, Advice and Guidance: Our commitment to you.
As a training provider we see information, advice and guidance (IAG) as key to a successful outcome for all our apprentices and the employers with which we work. With our wealth of experience in the outdoor sector, as well as the world of work more widely, we are in a
prime position to help the apprentices, in partnership with yourselves achieve their and your staffing goals.
Channel Training will:
● Signpost opportunities for apprentices both within and beyond our sector.
● Support apprentices with career and personal choices both now and in the future.
● Ensure all our IAG is impartial and learner / employer centred to assist you in making appropriate decisions which are informed and well thought through.
● Give IAG on skills, knowledge and behaviours required for your apprentices as well as wider IAG on finance, safeguarding, customer service etc. This will give you the support to enable your apprentices to be successful at your placement as well as in any future employment.
● Ensure the tutors working with your apprentices are experienced, professional and knowledgeable, to give IAG tailored to your requests.
The Channel Training Tutors will:
● Identify barriers apprentices / you may have and how to overcome them, giving you the confidence, skills and motivation to manage your apprenticeship programmes.
● Offer information in a format that suits you, be that verbal, written or electronic.
● Be responsive to your needs in a timely fashion, so that you get the information you need, when you need it.

Our Partners
Running Apprenticeships gives us the opportunity to give back to the industry as well as train those who are interested in the industry to a high standard. Opening a gateway and a step up into the industry for those that are only just beginning along with gaining skills for life and not just for the future work. Many of our apprentices go on to work around the world for various companies, which we are immensely proud of and it is fantastic for us to see the opportunities that have been opened up for them and to watch then grow and succeed in so many different ways.
– Lucy Oram – Scout Adventures
In my view apprentices are far better prepared for the workplace than students at college. The critical distinction is the experience of working with people day in and day out, both colleagues but more importantly customers. There is no way any college course can rival the opportunities for developing leadership, communication, initiative and teamwork that the workplace provides. These factors are much more important than an individual’s technical or academic capabilities when assessing their potential as an instructor.
